Abstract

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project STP-0001-00(607), Muscogee County, has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the proposed project's area of potential environmental effect.

The proposed project would consist of the construction of dual right turn lanes on the exit ramp of SR 22/US 80 and the addition of a channelized right turn lane island and lane to the entrance ramp. The eastbound ramp from CS 1505/Bradley Park Drive to eastbound SR 22/US 80 will be closed to eliminate a 140' weave section between the eastbound entrance ramp and the westbound CS 1505/Bradley Park Drive exit ramp. All proposed work would be done within existing right-of-way. An archaeological survey consistent with the project description was conducted for the entire length of the project corridor.
