The project proposes to replace bridge # 199-5048-0 on County Road (CR) 285/Dan Stribling Road over CSX Railroad #639372L in Meriwether County, located 3.5 miles south of Gay, Georgia. The total length of the project is .225 mile beginning 500 feet west of the existing bridge abutment and ending 600 feet east of the existing bridge abutment. The proposed new bridge consists of constructing a new 150 feet long by 29.25 feet wide bridge over CSX Railroad #639372L that would be constructed at the current location along the existing roadway centerline. The existing right-of-way (ROW) is 60 feet and the proposed required ROW is 80 feet throughout the project area. An off-site detour will be required. The proposed detour carries traffic from Georgia State Route 85 North to Covered Bridge Road, bypassing CR 285/Dan Stribling Road.
