Abstract

"In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project BRZLB-1 89(3), McDuffie Co. has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor.

This is a bridge replacement and road relocation project over Big Brier Creek on Young-Edwards Road (C.R. 139). The project is 2050 feet long and will require a R/W of 80 feet. The existing facility is a 15 to 20 foot dirt road. The project begins about 500 feet south and east of the existing bridge, crosses the existing bridge, and then travels east of the existing road, eliminating a large curve, before rejoining it.
