Abstract

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project BRZLB-219(8), Oconee Co., has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor. Plans show that the bridge and approaches over Buck Branch on C.R. 115 will be improved. The approach from the east will be approximately 600' long, requiring from 80'-110' of right-of-way. The approach from the west will be from 570'-600' long and will also require 80'-110' of right-of-way. In the immediate area of the existing bridge 110' of right-of-way is required, as well as an additional 35' of construction easement both north and south of the required right-of-way.
