Abstract

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project FR-156-1(5) Bibb County, has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify, and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor.

Project FR-156-1(5) Bibb County is the proposed widening and reconstruction of State Route 74 west of Macon, from Mosley and Dixon Road east to Interstate 475. The existing two lane road will be widened to four lanes with a 14 foot flush median. Project length is approximately 1 mile. It is anticipated that the project would be constructed within the 130 foot existing right-of-way, except for miters at intersecting streets or roads.
