Abstract

Archeological Assessment of the Morgan/Oconee Counties Resurfacing of SR 24. This project is 16.81 miles long and involves the patching, leveling, resurfacing and shoulder building on SR 24 from MP 13.05 (SR 12) in Morgan County to MP 9.51 in Oconee County. No additional right-of-way will be required. Pursuant to the February 2000 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Highway Administration (FHW A), the State Historic Preservation Officer of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (SHPO), and the Georgia Department of Transportation, this project is considered an undertaking as defined in 36 CFR 800.16(y), however, it has been determined there is no potential to affect historic properties included in or considered eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
