Abstract

Archeological Assessment of the Jackson County Resurfacing Project. This project is 4.7 miles of leveling, resurfacing, and shoulder widening of the SR 82 Connector beginning at SR 82 and ending at SR 98. No additional right-of-way is required.

Pursuant to the February 2000 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Highway Administration (FHW A), the State Historic Preservation Officer of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (SHPO) and the Georgia Department of Transportation, this project is considered an undertaking as defined in 36 CFR 800.16(y), however, it has been determined there is no potential to affect historic properties included in or considered eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
