Abstract

In compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, an archaeological survey has been conducted for the above project in Peach County. The project consists of constructing temporary approaches and bridge over Mossy Creek on S.R. 42. A pedestrian survey was conducted over the entire project area. Because the project will be constructed in a lowland area which is quite susceptible to flooding and therefore not a high probability location for archaeological sites, subsurface testing was not considered necessary. No evidence of cultural remains were located. Therefore, the States archaeological resources will not be affected by the project.
