Abstract

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project F-029-1(15), Peach Co., has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor. Plans indicate that S.R. 49 will be widened and improved from Taylor Mill Road to S.R. 7/U.S. 34. All widening and construction will occur within the existing 100 feet of right-of-way except in the vicinity of the U.S. 341/S .R. 7 intersection, where approximately 26-36 feet of additional right-of-way is required.
