Abstract

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project BRMB-2921(2), Troup County, has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor. The bridge over the S.C.L. Rai l road on Fling Road (S. R. 121) will be replaced within the existing 80 foot right-of-way corridor. The project will begin approximately 600 feet south of the existing bridge and will terminate approximately 500 feet north of that structure.
