Abstract

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments, thereto, project I-75-3(149), Catoosa County, has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor. This is a new location project that will connect C.R. 259 to S.R. 151. The project will begin at the sharp north turn on S.R. 259, south of the existing bridge over the Chickamauga Creek. It will extend in a westerly direction for approximately 2700 feet, intersecting S.R. 151 approximately 1150 feet from the existing I-75/S.R.151 crossing. A 150 foot corridor was surveyed.
