Abstract

Archaeological Assessment of Project STP-MOOI-00(271), Treutlen and Laurens Counties, paving one foot of existing shoulder on each side of a portion of SR199 in Laurens County, as well as leveling and resurfacing a portion SR 199 beginning at the Montgomery/Treutlen County Line and ending at milepost 16.2 15 in Laurens County. The net length of the project is approximately 16.159 miles. No additional right-of-way will be required. Pursuant to the February 2000 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Highway Authority (FHW A), the State Historic Preservation Division of the Department of Natural Resources (SHPO), and the Georgia Department of Transportation, this project is considered an undertaking as defined in 36 CFR 800. 16(y), however, it has been determined there is no potential to affect historic properties included in or considered eligible for inclusion in the NRHP.
