Abstract

The proposed project has been surveyed for historic and archaeological resources in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto. The survey boundary and methodology were established using the GDOT/FHWA Cultural Resource Survey Guidelines. These guidelines were established as a result of past interaction with the State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO) and her staff and were agreed upon by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the SHPO. Existing bridge structures are 100' x 24' at Folsom Creek, 200' x 24' at Cedar Creek and 80' x 24' at Cedar Creek Overflow. These bridges have timber pilings and caps, steel Stringers and concrete deck. There is approximately 100' of existing-right-way. Proposed 100' x 38' at Folsom Creek, 200' x 38' at Cedar Creek, and 80' x 38' at Cedar Creek Overflow. These structures will be concrete bridges constructed on existing alignment. On-site detours will be constructed and approximately 1950' x 50' of easement will be required.
