Abstract

Archaeological Assessment of Off-System Safety Improvements in Rabun County, Georgia. The proposed project would include Off-System Safety Improvements at 12 streets in the City of Dillard in Rabun County. The work consists of the installation of standard road signs, roadway striping, rumble strips, and stop bars. All project construction will be restricted to within the existing right-of-way at all 12 streets (see attachment for street listings). Pursuant to the February 2000 memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Highway Administration (FHW A), the State Historic Preservation Officer of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (SHPO), and the Georgia Department of Transportation, this project is considered an undertaking as defined in 36 CFR 800.16(y), however, it has been determined there is no potential to affect historic properties included in or considered eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
