Abstract

Project STP-157-1(7), Upson/Lamar Counties: Determination of No Undertaking; the subject project would consist of leveling and resurfacing of SR 36 in Upson and Lamar County. The project would begin at the intersection of SR 74 in Upson County and would extend northeast to end at the intersection of SR 7 in Lamar County. No earthwork would be involved in the process of leveling and resurfacing the existing roadway. No acquisition of additional right-of-way or construction would be required to implement the project. According to 36 CFR 800.2(o), an "undertaking" consists of "any project, activity, or program that can result in changes in the character or use of historic properties, if any such properties are located within the proposed project's area of potential effects. This project does not have the potential to result in changes to the character or use of any historic properties, therefore, the subject project does not constitute an under taking. This finding fulfills the Department's requirements under Section 106.
