Abstract

Project STPM-005-5(40), Bulloch County: Determination of No Undertaking for History and Archaeology. The subject project would consist of the leveling and resurfacing of SR 26 beginning at CS 671/Savannah Avenue (M.P. 19.00) and ending at a paving joint approximately 1,152 meters south of CR 491 (M.P.21.27), a distance of 3.64 kilometers. This leveling and resurfacing would occur within the confines of the existing pavement; no shoulder widening or paving would be done. No acquisition of additional right-of-way or construction easements would be required to implement the project. According to 36 CFR 800.2(o), an "undertaking" consists of "any project, activity, or program that can result in changes in the character or use of historic properties, if any such properties are located within the proposed project's area of potential effects. This project does not have the potential to result in changes to the character or use of any historic properties, therefore, the subject project does not constitute an undertaking. This finding fulfills the Department's requirements under Section 106.
