Abstract

This is a bridge project, BRZLB-157(8), located in Jackson County. The bridge is on CR 269/ Diamond Hill Road and crosses Candler Creek. The existing structure is a narrow, structurally deficient bridge approximately 12.2 meters long by 5.4 meters wide with rubble masonry abutments, steel beams, and a wood deck. The existing ROW on CR 269 is the existing roadway which is approximately 5.5 to 6.1 meters wide with 0 to 2 foot graded shoulders. The proposed project would begin approximately 244 meters south and north of Candler Creek. The required replacement structure would be a quadruple 3 meter by 3 meter bridge culvert approximately 22.9 meters long. It would be realigned approximately 52.5 meters (175ft) west (upstream) of the existing bridge to correct the existing poor horizontal alignment. The required right-of-way would be approximately 12 meters (40ft) left and right of the centerline. Road to be closed during construction. The most convenient detour route would be provided for the traveling public on existing facility at the time of construction. Total project length would be approximately 0.54 km (0.340 miles).
