Abstract

An intensive cultural resources survey was carried out for the Georgia Transmission Corporation's proposed Camilla Substation in Mitchell County, Georgia. The total area surveyed included a roughly 1.2 hectare (3 acre) area of impact for the substation construction. No previously identified historic or prehistoric cultural resources were located within the project area boundaries through background research with the Georgia State Historic Preservation Department nor with the State Site Files Database maintained by the Department of Anthropology, University of Georgia. Likewise no historic nor prehistoric resources were encountered during the survey. The project was carried out in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act by personnel qualified under 36 CFR part 6 1.
