Abstract

The proposed railroad safety improvement project would remove two existing two-lane railroad crossings that connect US 29/ State Route (SR) 14 Jefferson Memorial Highway to Walt Sanders Road and replace it with a new two-lane railroad crossing in Coweta County, Georgia. The new proposed crossing would be approximately 100 feet in length and the new roadway width would range from 20-60 feet. The proposed crossing would also consist of the installation of warning device equipment, signage, and pavement stripping. Approximately 315 feet of repaving would be required along Walt Sanders Road, beginning 150 feet west of the centerline of the proposed crossing and end 165 feet east of the centerline of the proposed crossing. No new ROW or easement would be required.
