Abstract

The proposed project includes intersection and operational improvements and pedestrian accommodations along Interstate North Parkway, Interstate North Circle, and Windy Ridge Parkway, including the following: Intersection improvements at Interstate North Parkway and Interstate North Circle – This intersection would be realigned and widened so that Interstate North Circle becomes the primary vehicular through movement. Intersection improvements at Interstate North Circle at Windy Ridge Parkway- This intersection would be widened to allow for the addition of through and turn lanes. Intersection improvements at Interstate North Parkway and Windy Ridge Parkway- This intersection would be reconstructed to reduce the number of lanes on the northbound approach. Interstate North Circle - This road would be widened to a four-lane cross section with exclusive left-tum lanes at key intersections and driveways and include sidewalks on both sides. Interstate North Parkway (South of Windy Ridge Parkway)- This road would be widened to a two-lane cross section with exclusive left-tum lanes at key intersections and driveways, and the existing sidewalk to the east would be widening to accommodate bicyclists and pedestrians. Interstate North Parkway (North of Windy Ridge Parkway) - The existing sidewalk on east side would be widened to accommodate bicyclists and pedestrians from the Windy Ridge Parkway Intersection to the Interstate North Parkway West Intersection.
