Abstract

On April 27, 2000, the Georgia Department of Transportation conducted a Phase I archaeological survey on County Road 227 in Dodge County, Georgia. The proposed project would drain, grade, and surface the unimproved county road. AJI work would be done with the existing right-of-way of 80 feet. In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, and the Georgia Environmental Policy Act 1991, the entire project corridor has been surveyed with respect to cultural resources. The purpose of this survey was to determine the presence or absence of any cultural resources within the proposed project's area of potential environmental effect. No cultural resources were identified during Phase I survey.
