Abstract

This is a bridge project, BRF-29-1(31), located in Peach County. The bridge is on State Route 49 and crosses Big Indian Creek. The existing structure is 25.2 feet wide and 60 feet long and has timber pilings and a concrete deck. The approaches are approximately 500 feet in length and have 24 feet paving with 6-foot shoulders. The existing right-of-way is 100 feet. The proposed project will replace the bridge on a new alignment east of the existing bridge with a 44-foot-wide by 100-foot-long concrete bridge. The approaches will be reconstructed to approximately 480 feet in length with 24-foot paving and 10-foot shoulders. The required right-of-way is 120 feet. The existing bridge will be retained as a detour during construction and removed after completion of the replacement bridge.
