Abstract

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project IR-75-2(130), Clayton Co., has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor. This is the bridge and approach widening on Old Dixie Highway (S.R. 3), beginning just south of the Upper Riverdale Road Intersection and extending northward approximately 0. 51 miles across I-75 to just south of Morrow Road Intersection. Widening will be to five lanes, except that six lanes will be provided within the I-75 interchange. Widening of ramps and intersection improvement at Upper Riverdale Road will be included.
