Abstract

Current Project: Project CSSTP-0006-00(862) proposes to widen SR 92/Lake Acworth Drive from US 41/SR3/Cobb Parkway to Glade Road to a divided 4-lane facility with 11-foot lanes on the inside and 12-foot lanes on the outside (see Figure 1: Project Location Map). The widened roadway would have a raised concrete median varying from 8 to 20 feet in width. The widened roadway would have a 16-foot shoulder with curb and gutter, and a 10-foot multi-use trail on the east side of the roadway and a 12-foot shoulder with curb and gutter and 5-foot sidewalk on the west side of the roadway. Since the time of the original survey, the design of the proposed project has been revised. The proposed project has been shortened from 3.8 miles to 2.4 miles. The proposed end point of the project will now be at the Intersection of SR 92/Lake Acworth Drive and Glade Road. The portion of the project between Cherokee Street and Cowan Road will no longer be built as part of GDOT Project CSSTP -0006-00(862), P.I. 0006862. Current (The Third Addendum) Survey: the Third Addendum survey area addresses areas where the project has expanded to accommodate cut/fill limits, redesigned retaining walls, and various driveway easements that occur outside areas covered in previous archaeological surveys of the project.
