This report details the results of the Phase I survey of the proposed western dam abutment access road for the Big Haynes Reservoir. The proposed access road is located in the vicinity of the Hightower Trail, a prominent travel route used by Native Americans during the prehistoric and early historical period. No archaeological sites were discovered. The only cultural material recovered consisted of a single quartz hefted biface probably attributable to the Late Archaic period (ca.4,000-1,000 B.C.). It was found out of context and, therefore, cannot be attributed to a specific site or location.
