Abstract

In September 2017, Vanasse Hangen Brustlin (VHB), Inc. completed a Phase I archaeological survey of Fulton County Land Parcel 121-253. The proposed project consists of the transfer of surplus property in Fulton County owned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). The surplus property will be placed on the market by GDOT’s Right-of-Way Office. The parcel is identified as PM 3485 = GEP-121-253, and is located at the northwest corner of the Mansell Road and House Road/State Route (SR) 140 intersection within the City of Roswell, Georgia. The parcel is approximately 5.34 acres in size and was acquired in 1992 for project STP 187-1(14). The project Area of Potential Effects (APE) has been defined as the legal limits of parcel 121-253, which totals approximately 5.34 acres and is of irregular shape. The maximum width of the APE is approximately 236 meters (m) (774 feet [ft]) W-E. The maximum length of the APE is approximately 180 m (591 ft) N-S. This survey was conducted by VHB to assist GDOT in complying with the Georgia Environmental Policy Act (GEPA) (OCGA 12- 16-1) and GDOT’s Policy 4415-10.
