The subject project would consist of the leveling and resurfacing of SR 7 through Lamar, Pike, and Spalding Counties. The proposed project would begin at the intersection of Redbud Drive in Lamar County and would end at the intersection of SR 3 in Spalding County. No earthwork would be involved in the process of leveling and resurfacing of the existing right of way or construction would be required to implement the project.
According to 36 CFR 800.2 (o), an “undertaking” consists of any project, activity, or program that can results in changes in the character or use of historic properties, if any such properties are located within the proposed project’s area of potential effects…
This project does not have the potential to results in changes to the character o ruse of any historic properties, therefore, the subject project does not constitute an undertaking. This finding fulfills the department’s requirements under Section 106.
