Abstract

TerraXplorations, Inc. (TerraX) of Mobile, Alabama was contracted by Trileaf Corporation of Maitland, Florida to conduct a Phase I archaeological direct effects survey and a visual effects survey for the proposed Jonesboro Road cellular tower in Fulton County, Georgia. The Area of Potential Effects (APE) for direct effects includes a proposed 10,000 sq ft lease area and a 722 ft long access road with a width of 30 ft. The proposed tower will be a monopole type constructed to a height of 199 ft. The total area of the direct effects APE including the lease area, access road, and utility easements amount to .72 acres. Background research and the field survey followed guidelines established under the FCC Programmatic Agreement. No previously recorded historic structures are situated within a 0.5-mile radius of the project area. One previously recorded archaeological site is located 0.4-miles east of the current study area. This consists of a surface-only unknown prehistoric site that was recommended as not eligible for the NRHP. During the course of the field survey portion of this archaeological assessment, no archaeological sites were encountered. As a result, the proposed Jonesboro Road cellular tower is expected to have no effect on any historic or prehistoric resources that are listed in or eligible for listing in the NRHP.
