Abstract

The proposed project STP-189-1 (26), Fulton County, P.I. No. 730880 will widen and reconstruct State Bridge Road from Kimball Bridge Road to Medlock Bridge Road, for a distance of 3.54 miles. The existing roadway consists of one-travel lane in each direction with turning lanes in some areas. The approved typical section consists of two lanes each direction separated by a 44-foot depressed median and a 16-foot shoulder with curb and gutter and an 8-foot sidewalk offset 2 feet from back of curb. Right of way is 71 feet from the centerline. At intersections where a right-tum deceleration lane is added, the shoulder is reduced to 13 feet and the sidewalk is directly behind the curb.

The proposed project STP-189-1(27), Fulton County, P.I. No. 730886 consists of constructing a parallel bridge at State Bridge Road at Johns Creek and adding temporary roadway approaches. The existing bridge 45-foot x 270-foot bridge with two 12-foot lanes and 10-foot shoulders would remain in place and an identical bridge would be constructed. The roadway approaches measure approximately 580 feet on the southeast end and 720 feet on the northwest end. Existing right-of-way in the area is 110 feet. An additional 50 feet of right-of-way and variable easements will be required.
