Abstract

This archaeological summary documents the results of an archaeological survey performed for the EBI Consulting Site# 61087429 (Gum Springs). The proposed tower location is at the top of a moderately sloped hill in a grassy cow pasture approximately 0.25 kilometers (0.16 miles) west of the intersection of Georgia Highway 140 and Dog Lane in Adairsville, Bartow County, Georgia. This archaeological survey was conducted to ensure that potentially significant archaeological resources are not located within the area to be impacted by the proposed tower. This document is being submitted in compliance with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) "Nationwide Programmatic Agreement for Review of Effects on Historic Properties for Certain Undertakings Approved by The Federal Communications Commission" (FCC 2004). The information is being submitted as part of the required New Tower (NT) Submission Packet, Form 620. A total of 11 shovel test pits were excavated. No artifacts were encountered. No archaeological sites were identified. No additional archaeological work is recommended.
