This project consists of the addition of passing lanes and intersection improvements along SR 53 between Tate and Holcomb in Pickens County. Previously the project has been defined as having two passing lanes; however, at this time, the project has changed to include only one eastbound passing lane, beginning just east of CR 50/Four Mile Church Rd. (MP 26.3) and ending approximately at 535 feet east of CR 46/Wilkie Rd. (MP 27.61). Additional right-of-way (ROW) will vary from the existing 60 feet up to 200 feet.
