Unnamed Archaeological Site – (411 Etowah River Bridge Site)

Report Number
13791
Year of Publication
1974
Abstract

Material is exposed here more abundantly on the gentle slope above the river flood plain. This land is farmed regularly. The site well may continue to the south of U.S. 411. The material which is found on the surface here is stone. This apparently was a workshop area. This site has not been excavated, therefore its full nature and significance cannot be evaluated at this time; its importance lies in its potential to add to the full understanding of the cultural history of not only this area, but the entire state. All archeological sites in southern Bartow County are endangered because of rapidly expanding industrial and commercial interests.
