Abstract

Viasat, Inc. (Viasat) proposes to construct, operate, and maintain a new satellite earth station (satellite) not to exceed 20 feet (ft) in height, located in Pierce County, Georgia (Project). The Project is in northeast Pierce County approximately 29 meters (m) northwest of E Highway 84 and 201 m southwest of Bowen Circle approximately 2.90 kilometers (km) northeast from the community of Patterson (Latitude/Longitude [NAD83]: 31.405317°, -82.117836°). Proposed plans include the construction of an approximately 15-m-long by 6.1-m-wide access road beginning at Highway 84 and extending northwest to the pad location. The proposed pad, including workspace, measures 7.6-m by 8.5-m. A small power easement measuring 48-m by 3.0-m is proposed from an existing gravel drive extending in an easterly direction to the pad location. This power easement will extend northeast from the gravel drive before turning east to parallel along existing chain link fence to the pad location. The total Project area measures approximately 0.07 acres (ac) (0.03 hectares [ha]). A United States Geological Survey (USGS) map and aerial photograph of the Project location are provided in Figures 1 and 2 in the Figures and Photographs section at the end of the report.
