Abstract

This document reports the results of archeological monitoring of an approximately 40-ft section of sidewalk requiring replacement, adjacent to the Lucy Cobb Institute Carriage House (Figure 1). The sidewalk replacement was performed by personnel with the University of Georgia’s Office of the University Architects for Facilities Planning under the direction of construction manager Clay Dally. Kathy Mulchrone of Southeastern Archeological Services (SAS) monitored the excavation of the sidewalk path during most of its excavation, from November 20, 2019 to November 22, 2019. The excavation revealed various intrusions related to landscaping activities and soil anomalies of unknown nature.
