Abstract

The purpose of the building enclosure assessment performed by Merik was to evaluate the existing exterior walls, fenestration, and related building enclosure facade elements to assist UGA OUA in identifying and prioritizing potential repairs or rehabilitation of the various facade systems. Our services did not include an evaluation of possible hazardous materials or roofing systems.

The scope of the assessment included examination by visual inspection of the exterior and interior building surfaces. Up-close observations were made from ground level, various roof areas throughout the building complex, and from an aerial boom lift. Exploratory openings in the building exterior cladding components were also made at select representative areas to better understand the building as-built construction.
