Abstract

Historic Preservation Consulting recently completed a Phase I archaeological survey of the proposed Haw Creek Substation and Transmission Line Corridor in southeastern Forsyth County, Georgia. The work was conducted for Georgia Transmission Corporation. Fieldwork was conducted on January 19, 1998. The principal aim of the survey was to locate and record any previously unidentified cultural resources that may exist within the project area. Examination of the area was accomplished through pedestrian survey and subsurface shovel testing. No cultural remains were identified within the project area. Based on the negative results of the Phase I survey, no further work is recommended by Historic Preservation Consulting.
