Abstract

From May through June 1998, a cultural resource survey was conducted on the Oconee National Forest in Jasper County, Georgia by R.S. Webb and Associates. Approximately 1086 acres were surveyed prior to the West 11 timber sale. Thirty new archeological sites were identified. Four sites are potentially eligible to the National Register of Historic Places, and twenty-six sites are not eligible. The potentially eligible sites will be protected in place by avoidance. Ten isolated finds were recorded as well. In addition, a previously recorded ineligible historic house site, GA08-1484, was revisited. This project will have NO Effect on any eligible or potentially eligible sites. Table 1.
