Abstract

A cultural resources survey of the bridge crossing of Fish Creek on SR 182/Bethlehem Road in Polk County, Georgia, was conducted by New South Associates May 28, 2001. A 1,000 foot approach with a 400 foot wide right-of-way was studied on each side of the bridge. One Archaic Period archaeological site (9Po81) was located within the right-of-way on the north side of the bridge. A twentieth century historic isolated find was identified within the right-of-way on the southwest side of the bridge. Site 9Po81 is recommended potentially eligible for the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).
