Abstract

The present report summarizes a cultural resource survey of a proposed 0.4 acre heliport located near Skeenah Gap. The project area, drained by one of the upper branches of Young Cane Creek, has a northeast exposure and is characterized by a fairly fertile, somewhat light loam (USFS, 1917). The area was cut over within the past 5 years. Prior to the survey, Forest Service land acquisition files, State archeological site files and the listings of the National Register were interrogated for information on cultural resources within the project area. The records search failed to yield information pertaining to archeological sites within the project area.
