Abstract

New South Associates, through a contract with Edmonds-Pitman Environmental, conducted an archaeological survey of three (3) non-contiguous bridge replacement tracts in Jeff Davis county, Georgia. The survey was conducted between April 29 and May 1, 2003. All the survey tracts were located on Georgia State Highway 221. The survey was necessary in order to determine the presence of archaeological sites within these tracts. A site files search determined that no archaeological sites are documented in the area and no archaeological sites were located as a result of this survey. Bridge replacement activities will thus have no affect on archaeological sites. No further archaeological study is recommended.
