Abstract

The following report details New South Associates' archaeological survey of three alternate routes proposed for a highway-widening project along Highway US 84/SR 38 in March of 2003. The survey evaluated three revised alignments circumventing the Argyle, Ruskin, and Wahoma communities for archaeological site potential. The new rights-of-way total approximately 6.7 miles (10.8 km) of new alignment in Clinch and Ware Counties. No new or previously recorded archaeological sites were found or recorded during the course of the survey and no further archaeological study of the project area is recommended.
