Abstract

Cultural Resources Services, Inc., conducted a cultural resource pedestrian archaeological survey of the Calhoun, Gordon County, Georgia sanitary sewer system for the proposed industrial park of Calhoun, Georgia. Visual surface observations and 60 sub-surface test pits revealed the absence of any significant archaeological resources that would qualify for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places. Based upon the total lack of any prehistoric or significant historic archaeological remains, the approximate two miles (3.2 kilometers) of pipelines right-of-way is recommended for clearance from an archaeological perspective.
