Abstract

A cultural resources survey was conducted on a 328 acre tract west of Ford Mountain in Rabun County, Georgia. The parcel is located in Land lot 119 (Tracts S.376 and S.3802), District 3, of Rabun County, and in compartment 12 of the Tallulah Ranger District, Chattahoochee National Forest. The property is accessible by a gravel county road which runs through the southwest portion of the property and along the eastern boundary. In addition to the county road there are four logging roads and one private road which provide limited access. The field survey was conducted on August 12, 13, and 14 by the author, Dr. Jack Wynn and YACC enrollees Sherry McKinney, Ray Owens, Aaron Scott, and Nancy Sheick. Figure 1 locates the property; Plate I illustrates terrain and vegetation.
