Abstract

Original Project APE: the proposed project would replace the existing bridge with a new bridge approximately 52-feet wide. The new bridge would accommodate two 12-foot wide travel lanes separated by a 12-foot flush median, two 6-foot wide sidewalks, and two 2-foot gutters. The bridge is expected to be 120 feet long. The proposed bridge would be constructed on existing alignment. The proposed western roadway approach would consist of two 12-foot travel lanes, a 14-foot flush median, 6-foot sidewalks on both sides, and rural shoulders. The proposed eastern roadway approach would have two travel lanes with rural shoulders and a flush median transition section that would range from 12 feet to no median. The proposed right-of-way width along SR 16 would be 200 feet. Traffic would be maintained via an on-site detour structure located on the south side of the existing bridge. Project Changes: the bridge width had decreased from 52 feet to 42 feet. The bridge length has increased from 120 feet to 215 feet. The overall project length would be increased from 1,350 feet to 1,585 feet (0.3 mile).
