Abstract

The proposed project would consist of improvements to SR 260/Glenwood Road at 1-285. These improvements would include re-striping Glenwood Road and constructing a raised median on the east side of the interchange. In addition, an island would be installed at Glenfair Road to allow only right-in/right-out movements. An additional right-turn lane would be constructed on the northbound off-ramp and the storage length would be increased on the right-turn lane on the southbound off ramp. Improvements would also be made to the turning radii on the 1-285 on-ramps to improve turning movements. Also, crosswalks would be installed at the ramp interchanges and at Austin Drive, and improvements to the signal timing at the 1-285 interchanges would be made. The proposed project would also include the installation of sidewalks on the south side of Glenwood Road west of the interchange and on both sides of Glenwood Road east of the interchange. The existing asphalt on all ramps would be milled and paved for ramp widening. The existing right-of-way along Glenwood Road is 52 to 100 feet. No additional right-of-way would be required for project implementation.
