Abstract

Original project description: The proposed project would replace the existing bridge over Watermelon Creek with a two-lane bridge on new alignment. The proposed alignment would be located north of the existing bridge with a centerline-to-centerline offset of approximately 60 feet. The approaches would consist of two 12-foot travel lanes with 10-foot rural shoulders. The proposed bridge would be 44 feet wide (gutter to gutter) and 240 feet long. It would consist of two 12-foot travel lanes and 10-foot shoulders. The proposed right-of-way (ROW) width would vary from approximately 100 to 190 feet. A total of approximately 1.77 acres of additional ROW would be required for the proposed project. The total project length is approximately 2,890 feet (0.55 mile). Two-way traffic would be maintained on the existing bridge while the proposed bridge is constructed. Once the new bridge is constructed, the old bridge would be removed. 1) Project limits on SR 144 extended west 10 feet. 2) The shoulder widening and overlay at the beginning of the project begins 100 feet earlier. 3) The required right-of-way east of CR 309 (South of SR 144) is decreased. 4) New permanent easement: a. South of SR 144 and west of the creek- STA 114+52.07 to STA 115+86.50. b. South of SR 144 and east of the creek - STA 116+95.33 to STA 126+00.00.
