Abstract

Original: The proposed bridge would be constructed on existing alignment and be 160 ft long and 40 ft wide to accommodate two 12-ft wide travel lanes and 8-ft paved shoulders. The bridge would be longer than specified in the initial concept report (120 ft) due to engineering refinements. The approaches would consist of two 12-ft wide travel lanes with two 10-ft wide unpaved shoulders and side ditches. Approximately 2.9 acres of additional right-of-way (ROW) would be required. The additional ROW would be taken from roadway approaches and vary from 30-50 ft from the existing ROW. The maximum ROW would be 200 ft. Temporary construction easements would be required on both sides of SR 137 for the construction of the temporary detour bridge and four sediment basins. A temporary on-site detour would be constructed approximately 100 ft southeast of the centerline of the existing bridge. The project would be approximately 0.33 mile (1,750 ft) in length. The project would begin approximately 823 feet southwest of Whitewater Creek and end approximately 902 feet northeast of Whitewater Creek. The total project length is approximately 1,725 feet (0.33 mile). Construction easements and sediment basins have been expanded north of the creek on the west side of SR 137 and south of the creek on the east side of SR 137. One new easement has been added in the south west extent of the project area.
