Abstract

The proposed project would consist of a park and ride lot facility on a 3.96-acre site located in Clayton County, Georgia (see attached location map). The facility would be located at an undeveloped parcel along Lamar Hutcheson Parkway, between Roberts Drive and Valley Hill Road. The Riverdale Assembly of God to the east, an undeveloped parcel to the west, apartment homes to the south, and Lamar Hutcheson Parkway to the north border the parcel. The park and ride facility infrastructure would consist of approximately 320 new parking spaces and bus pavilions, and access to the site from Lamar Hutcheson Parkway. The site would provide a common entrance for buses and commuter vehicles. The entrance would be located at the existing median opening on Lamar Hutcheson Parkway. The shared exit would be located near the eastern boundary of the site, which allows for "right turn only" movements due to the median. The design would also include an area reserved for storm-water detention. This dry detention pond would be designed such that the rate of storm water leaving the developed site would not exceed that of the predeveloped conditions. Therefore, downstream areas would not be significantly impacted by the development. The Principal Investigator, Patrick Smith, hereby certifies that the Area of Potential Effect (as described on page 1 of this form) for GDOT Project MSL-0003-00(541)has been thoroughly surveyed for archaeological resources and that no such resources were located or identified.
