Abstract

A short form for negative findings for a Phase I Archaeological Survey of the 4th Early Acquisition Tract, McGinnis Ferry Road/Northbrook Parkway Project, Gwinnett County, Georgia. The project is located on the Suwanee Quadrangle. New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of a 15.23 acre tract located between Johnson Road and Gwinco Boulevard, Gwinnett County, Georgia. The tract is fourth in a series of early land acquisitions in conjunction with the McGinnis Ferry Road/Northbrook Parkway extension project. Previously, site 9Gw320 was recorded by Fritz Hillary and Douglas Marsh of the Greater Atlanta Archaeological Society (GAAS) in 1995. The site was described as a quartz lithic scatter located on a graded ridge top overlooking an intermittent creek. Four projectile points, several point fragments, quartz debitage, and some chert debitage were recovered from the site. The points were identified as Morrow Mountain, placing the site in the Middle Archaic. No report was filed, and the National Register standing is marked as unknown.
