Abstract

Original: The project consists of 0.66 mile of bridge replacement on CR 172/Pobiddy Road over the Flint River. The proposed improvements would replace the existing bridge with a new structurally adequate bridge. The bridge would have an approximate total length of 600 feet and an approximate total width of 35 feet. The proposed roadway improvements would consist of two 12-foot travel lanes, 6-foot unpaved shoulders, and rural side ditch sections. Revised: The proposed bridge would be 600 feet long and 35 feet wide with four spans. The right-of-way would be increased an average of 20 feet along the western side of the project and would be increased 125 feet along the majority of the eastern side. Because of the long detour route (approximately 26 miles) an offsite detour is not considered to be appropriate. However, the new bridge would be constructed to the west (upstream) of the existing structure to avoid or minimize impact to 2 federally endangered plant species. There were negative findings.
